Visual Art

Character-driven visual art practice focused on narrative, emotional expression, and mixed media.

The Legend of the White Snake

"The Legend of the White Snake" is a collaborative long scroll illustration that presents key narrative moments from the traditional Chinese story. The project was developed as a group of five, with each member responsible for a different scene and visual interpretation.

The work combines flat color techniques with mixed media elements, creating visual contrast and texture across the scroll. Through this project, I explored narrative continuity within a collaborative framework while maintaining a distinct visual voice within a larger unified piece.

Nostalgia and Development in Books

"Nostalgia and Development in Books" explores how the concept of realism has evolved with social and historical changes. Using digital painting, collage design, and sand textures, I aim to demonstrate how literature, media, and historical events have shaped people's understanding of reality. The central image is a boy with his head bowed, holding a book, symbolizing his immersion in stories and knowledge; his surroundings reflect the social and cultural shifts that influenced 20th-century realism.

By combining historical allusions, literary works, and mixed-media techniques, I aim to illustrate how realism evolved from nineteenth-century genre painting into a more complex and symbolic mode of depiction.

The Forest’s Wrath

“The Forest’s Wrath” is a poster design intended to raise awareness about the dangers of starting fires in forests. The work uses the skeletal form of a deer to symbolize the forest’s anger and the suffering of its inhabitants, highlighting the deadly consequences of forest fires on wildlife and their habitats.

Color is employed symbolically: red represents warning and danger, while black signifies death and destruction. The composition emphasizes contrast and emotional impact to effectively communicate the urgent environmental message.

Through this project, the goal was to combine visual storytelling with social commentary, creating a striking and memorable image that encourages responsible behavior in natural environments.
